Unity and Imam Hussain (as)

“Hold fast, all together, to Allah’s cord, and do not be divided” – Holy Qur’an (3:103)

The grand sacrifice of Imam Hussain (as) was to save not only the entire Muslim Ummah but also the Humanity at large, from the clinches of Satan and his army of oppressors of humanity. The Unforgettable battle of Karbala, clearly distinguished the human race between two opposite groups: Oppressors and the Oppressed ones.

The fight between Truth and Falsehood is always there since the beginning of the time. Satanic powers have always been in efforts to corrupt the human course and to make it lose its true essence of humanity. But, the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (as) has foiled all their efforts for good. This is why Imam Hussain (as) is known as the reviver of the great message of Islam as a savior of the mankind.

The message of Karbala does not only cater to Muslims but it applies to all those who uphold the values of Truth and Justice. As the father of Imam Hussain (as), the commander of faithful, Imam Ali (as) had famously said, ‘People are of two kinds. Either they are your brothers in faith or they are your equals in Humanity.’ Similarly, the message of Karbala puts all the oppressed and downtrodden people in one line against the oppressors and tyrants, irrespective of their apparent faith/religion, which they might be claiming to follow.

Walking on the path of Imam Hussain (as) demands such unity from us. Today, the need for unity is more than ever before. The global arrogance has divided the world into "the oppressors" and "the oppressed ones". Our world needs to be united against the global oppressors like America, israel and all their partners in crime, for them continuously carrying out the utmost atrocities against the humanity. We must strive for this Unity not just amongst the Shia or between Shia and Sunni brothers, but between all the seekers of global justice and those who care for the humanity. We must collectively rise up to confront the evil powers, as the commander of faithful, Imam Ali (as) said, ‘Oppose the oppressors and support the oppressed’.

The universal message of Islam and true prophetic teachings are for the salvation of humanity through the establishment of true social justice throughout the globe. And Imam Hussain (as), the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (saw) is at the center of this movement that unites the mankind on truth and universal justice. Hence, let us pray and also work towards achieving this unity, for the early reappearance of the awaited savior, Imam Mahdi (atfs) who would come and guide this movement of Imam Hussain (as) to its final stage, building up the world filled with justice and peace.
